Ofsted

Ofsted statement 2024-2025

Bird in Bush School is Southwark’s newest Primary School offer to its local community. The school is an amalgamation of two Southwark community schools, Camelot Primary School and Cobourg Primary School.

The school was inspected in July 2024 linked to the unique reference number (URN) for Camelot School as it shares the school site for this school but in all other ways it is a new school. The rules on changing the URN are complicated and can be found here.

The Bird in Bush School was visited by Ofsted in July 2024 just before the new government started and changed the remit for future inspections going forward – see explanation here. The school was judged as Good in its one word overall effectiveness judgement but also judged good for the four areas that will be the focus for future inspections – Pupil Outcomes; Behaviour and Attitudes; Personal Development and Leadership and Management.

The link to this July 2024 report can be found here.

We request your support in acknowledging that our new school is only twelve months old at the start of 2024-2025 and we acknowledge the tasks ahead for us as well as the confidence that the Ofsted report confirms for our school’s capacity for improvement as well its leadership and management to secure these improvements.
